Information We Collect

When you use our platform, we may collect the following types of information:

Personal Information: This includes your name, email address, and other contact details. You may also choose to provide additional information, such as your educational, geographic, demographic, career goals, and other current and background information to facilitate better mentoring.

Communications: When you communicate with us, we may keep a record of your messages, including email notifications sent from servers and our mentors.

Shared Information: Any information you share on the platform, such as questions, concerns, or mentoring needs, will be viewable by all mentors to facilitate collaboration and better serve your needs.

Google User Data

The only Google User Data we request, and optionally so, is to read a user's (specifically, mentor's) primary Google Calendar events.

For mentors who wish to view their personal events within the application, authorization is required. This involves giving the app permission to read your personal events, so that your events can be programmatically accessed and displayed within the app. This information is considered very sensitive, and there are security measures in place to minimize the risk of hacks and exposure. This data is also not shared with any third party service.

• Access to Google Calendar Events: Our application requests authorization to access your Google Calendar events if you are a mentor, and wish to see your personal events within the application. This permission is not required, but it allows us to retrieve and display your personal calendar events within our application. Note, this functionality only applies to mentors currently.
• Limited Use and Purpose: We only use the accessed Google Calendar data for the sole purpose of displaying your events through our application. We do not share this data with any third parties or use it for any other purposes.
• Data Storage: We do not store any of your personal Google User data. Rather when you authorize, we store an access and refresh token provided from Google, so that we can programmatically get/ read your personal events.
• Data Sharing: We do not share your Google Calendar data with any external entities, organizations, or individuals unless required by law or with your explicit consent.
• User Control: You have full control over the authorization and access granted to our application for your Google Calendar data. At any time, you can revoke the access by adjusting the settings in your Google account.

Disclosure

Caribbean Tech Pioneers use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect from you for the following purposes:

To provide you with our mentoring services, including matching you with suitable mentors and scheduling mentorship sessions.

To facilitate communication between you, our mentors, and the Caribbean Tech Pioneers team.

To improve and personalize your experience on our platform and develop new features and services.

To send you email notifications, updates, and other relevant information about our platform and services.

To maintain the security and integrity of our platform.

Information Sharing

Our mentors, as they collaborate to determine the necessary mentoring needs for each mentee and provide support.

Third parties who provide services on our behalf, such as hosting, analytics, and customer support. These third parties will only have access to your information as necessary to perform their functions and will be obligated to protect your information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices
